‘G-Rout- In Juggler Vein’. 1960. Large and impressive original pen and ink caricature/ cartoon newspaper artwork for an Australian newspaper by artist Samuel Wells. The top half of the cartoon depicts Wally Grout in wicket keeper mode having taken a world record 8 catches for Queensland v Western Australia and the retirement of Ray Lindwall (1500 Test runs, 228 Test wickets) etc. Other images of the Olympics and Horse Racing. The cartoon, signed by Wells, measures 14”x21”. Excellent image. Good condition
