Gerry Wright 1931-2015. ‘The Last Innings. W.G. Grace’. Large and impressive original oil painting on board by artist Gerry Wright, showing Grace, full length, wearing cricket attire, hooped cap in M.C.C. colours, padded up with bat in hand, standing in a garden with a bright sunset above the trees to background. The painting is unsigned but a label to the lower border of the frame has the title ‘The Last Innings, Gerry Wright’. Framed without glass, ‘W.G. Grace’ handwritten to back of frame. Overall 25”x40”. Very small hole to canvas at the centre of the lower border otherwise in good/very good condition. Sold with a copy of Cricket’s Golden Summer’ which features many of Gerry Wright’s works
