John William ‘Jack’ Hearne. Middlesex & England 1909-1936. Two early mono photographs of Hearne walking out to bat, one in 1910 (6.5”x8.5”), the other with G.A. Faulkner (South Africa) for the M.C.C. v Yorkshire at Scarborough in 1913 (4.75”x8”). The photographs are laid down individually to photograph album pages with handwritten title and players’ names annotated in ink to margins. To the verso of the pages are two further photographs, one titled ‘Gents v Players 1912’, Plum Warner batting and the signature in ink of the Players’ wicket-keeper, E.J. ‘Tiger’ Smith (Warwickshire), on piece laid down below. The other is a head and shoulders photograph of Harry Dean (Lancashire). Ex J.W. Goldman collection. Four photographs in total. Good images. Very good condition.
