Triangular Test Tournament 1912. Two early mono photographs of action at Lord’s from the Triangular Test series. One of Australia v South Africa with the ink signature of South Africa captain, Frank Mitchell, on piece laid down, also Tommy Ward of South Africa and Australian captain Syd Gregory batting. Excellent image. The other of England v South Africa featuring Reggie Spooner making his 100th run in his innings of 119 for England, also Tom Campbell of South Africa. Both 9”x7”, laid down individually to photograph album pages with handwritten titles and players’ names annotated in ink to margins. To the verso of the pages are early photographs of ‘Oxford v Cambridge 1913’ with the ink signature on piece of S.H. Saville (Cambridge) laid down, also R.H. Twining (Oxford), 5.75”x5.75”. Also ‘Gents v Players. Oval 1913’ with P.F. Warner and M.C. Bird walking out to open the batting for the Gentlemen, both were out for ducks! 6.25”x8”. Ex J.W. Goldman collection. Nice images. Four photographs in total. Very good condition.
