Gentlemen v Players, Scarborough 1913. Three early mono photographs laid back to back on two photograph album pages. One depicts F.L. Fane and M.C. Bird walking out to bat for the Gentlemen with signature in ink of Fane on piece laid down below. G.H. Hirst leading the Players team onto the field of play from the pavilion, including A. Dolphin, J. Seymour, W. Rhodes, C. Blythe, J.W. Hearne, J.B. Hobbs, M.W. Booth, A.E. Relf etc. Also a general view of the match in progress with the pavilion in the background. All three measure 8”x4.75”. To the verso of one page is a further early sepia photograph depicting action from Free Foresters v Germantown (U.S.A.) with T.C. O’Brien of Free Foresters in the field. 8.25”x6.25”. Each page with handwritten titles and players’ names annotated in ink to margins. Ex J.W. Goldman collection. Excellent images. Four photographs in total. Very good condition.
