‘Grand Return Cricket Match between the counties of Nottingham & Surrey’ 1862. Early original single sided scorecard with complete printed scores for the match played at Trent Bridge, 28th- 30th July 1862. Surrey elected to bat first and posted 133, Julius Caesar top scorer with 31, George Wootton taking 5/53. In reply Nottinghamshire scored 224 (Augustus Bateman 63, James Grundy 60, George Griffith with 5/61. Surrey then made 187 in their second innings (Tom Lockyer 40), setting a target of 97 which Nottinghamshire achieved, ending 99/5 to win by five wickets (Richard Daft 37no). Printed on the ground by George Richards ‘from Farmer’s Yard’. 4.5”x6”. Creases to lower corners, minor soiling, otherwise in good condition.
