‘All-England Eleven versus Twenty-Two of Leeds and District’ 1863. Early original single sided scorecard with complete printed scores for the match played at Leeds Royal Park, 17th- 19th September 1863. Leeds batted first and reached 112, All-England’s John Jackson taking eleven wickets, Edgar Willsher seven. All-England were then bowled out cheaply for 58, only E.M. Grace (26) and Julius Caeser (13no) reaching double figures. Leeds then posted 115 in their second innings (Tinley nine wickets), setting All-England 170 to win. They reached 48/3, Grace again top scorer with an unbeaten 34, and the match was drawn. Others who played in the All -England team included George Tarrant, Joseph Rowbotham, H.H. Stephenson, George Anderson etc., and the Leeds side featured a number who represented Yorkshire including Luke Greenwood, Ashley Walker, Edwin Dawson, Matthew Myers and William Slinn.
