‘All-England Eleven versus Twenty-Two of Scarborough & District’ 1864. Early original single sided scorecard with complete printed scores for the match played at Castle Hill, Scarborough, 5th- 7th September 1864. All-England batted first and reached 114, Tom Hayward top scorer with 26. Scarborough replied with 84, W. Cuttell (18) and G. Holgate (10) the only batsmen to reach double figures, Edgar Willsher taking eleven wickets. All-England were then dismissed in their second innings for 69 (Richard Daft 29). Set exactly 100 to win, Scarborough were bowled out for 83, All-England winning by 16 runs. Others who played in the All -England team included George Tarrant, Alfred Clarke, Edwin Stephenson, Crispin Tinley, Alexander Rowley and John Jackson, and the Scarborough side featured a number who represented Yorkshire including Isacc Hodgson, John Berry, Charles Prest, William Cuttell, Gideon Holgate etc. Printed by William Whittam. 4.5”x6”.
