‘Grand Cricket Match. Lancashire v. Yorkshire’ 1877. Early original single sided scorecard with complete printed scores for the match played at St. John’s Ground, Fartown, Huddersfield, 12th- 14th July 1877. Batting first, Yorkshire were bowled out for 122, George Ulyett top scorer with 39. In reply, Lancashire reached 207, Arthur Appleby ending on 69no. Yorkshire were then dismissed cheaply again in their second innings, reaching 113 (Andrew Greenwood 41). Lancashire reached their target easily, ending 29/1 to win by nine wickets. Lancashire’s Alexander Watson bowled unchanged throughout both innings for a total of 101.2 (four ball) overs, taking nine wickets for 100 runs. Making his only appearance for Lancashire, Yorkshireman Fred Blake made his highest first-class score of 26. He also played two matches for Yorkshire in 1880. Printed by W.
