‘Cambridgeshire v. M.C.C. & [Ground]’ 1893. Early original single sided scorecard with complete printed scores for the match played at Fenner’s, Cambridge, 6th & 7th July 1893. According to the scorecard Cambridgeshire batted first and reached 116, Edward Briggs scoring 52, George Davidson and George Burton taking five wickets each. M.C.C. replied with 132 (William Hearn 34, Dan Hayward five wickets). In the second innings Cambridgeshire were bowled out for 211 (Frank Robertson 96, Burton six wickets), and M.C.C. closed 146/8 (Charles Pigg 46), the match ending in a draw. cricketarchive.com lists Cambridgeshire’s two innings in reverse order to that shown on the scorecard. Printed on blue card by H. Smith of Cambridge. 4”x6.25”. Small tears to left edge, minor staining, otherwise in good condition.
