‘Kent v. Gloucestershire’ 1894. Early original double sided scorecard with complete printed and handwritten scores in pencil for the match played at The Rectory Field, Blackheath, 12th- 14th July 1894. Electing to bat first, Gloucestershire could make only 115 (J.R. Painter 27, Walter Hearne taking 6/37 for Kent. Kent replied with 286 (Gerry Weighall 84, Leslie Wilson 53, Frederick Atkins 52), with Fred Roberts taking 7/92. Gloucestershire were then bowled out for only 70 in their second innings, W.G. Grace and Bill Murch top scorers with 17, Walter Hearne taking a further seven wickets to return match bowling figures of thirteen wickets for 61 runs, Kent winning by an innings and 101 runs. Printed on the ground by Charles North of Blackheath. 4.5”x6”. Originally from the collection of J.R. Mason who played for Kent in this game. Some creasing and adhesive damage to verso where the card has been laid down, otherwise in good condition.
