‘Nottinghamshire v. Gloucestershire’ 1901. Early original commemorative silk scorecard for the high scoring match played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, 18th- 20th July 1901, in which three players scored centuries. Nottinghamshire elected to bat first and posted 450 with centuries from Arthur Jones (147) and Arthur Shrewsbury (167no). Gloucestershire’s Arthur Paish took 6/152. Gloucestershire replied strongly with 462, Harry Wrathall scoring 148. Nottinghamshire then declared their second innings at 246/3, (Jones 67, John Gunn 84no, John Dixon 56no), and Gloucestershire held on for the drawn ending 114/6. Printed by Charles H. Richards of Nottingham. 5.25”x8”. The scorecard is laid down by the top and bottom edges to black album page. Slight adhesive show-through, otherwise in very good condition.
