‘Gentlemen v. Players’. Scarborough Cricket Festival 1902 & 1903. Two early original single sided scorecards for matches played at Scarborough, both with complete printed and handwritten scores in ink. One for the drawn match played 1st- 3rd September 1902. Players scored 314 & 259, Gentlemen 363 (Cuthbert Burnup and Tom Taylor both scoring 102, Wilfred Rhodes taking 5/71) and 133/7. Printer unknown. The other for the match played 31st August- 2nd September 1903, in which Gentlemen scored 200, Players replying with 444 (Rhodes 82, Johnny Tyldesley 78, George Hirst 75), the Gentlemen then bowled out for 236, Players winning by an innings and 8 runs. Printed by W. Whitham, Sheffield. Each measures 5”x8.25”. Both with horizontal fold and old small tape mounts to verso, otherwise in good/ very good condition.
