Lancashire C.C.C. 1904 & 1905. Two early original double sided scorecards for Lancashire matches. Scorecards are ‘Lancashire (Champion County) v. Rest of England’, Kennington Oval, 12th- 15th September 1904 with incomplete faintly handwritten scores in pencil. The Rest scored 235 (Willis Cuttell 5/78) and 156/4 declared (Gilbert Jessop 77), Lancashire 177 (Archie MacLaren 58) and 106/5 (Johnny Tyldesley 52). The match was drawn. Printed on the ground by Merritt & Hatcher, London, with fixtures to verso. 5”x7.75”. Good condition. ‘Lancashire County v An England XI’, Blackpool, 31st August- 2nd September 1905, complete printed scores. England XI scored 193 (John Gunn 50) and 228/6 declared (George Gunn 48), Lancashire 253 (MacLaren 93) and 168/7 (Frank Harry 64no). The scores were tied when time was called when Lancashire’s William Cook was caught attempting to hit the winning run. Printed by Maxwell & Co., Blackpool. 5”x8.25”. Light horizontal fold and minor age toning, otherwise in good condition.
