The Ashes. England v Australia 1921. Four original double sided scorecards for four of the five matches in the 1921 Ashes Test series. Scorecards are 2nd Test, Lord’s, 11th- 14th June, incomplete printed and faintly handwritten scores in pencil. England scored 187 & 283, Australia 342 & 131/2 to win by eight wickets. Folding scorecard for the 3rd Test, Headingley, 2nd- 5th July 1921, complete printed scores. Australia scored 407 (Charlie Macartney 115) and 273/7 declared. In reply England made 259 & 202, Australia winning by 219 runs. Some soiling to verso. 4th Test, Old Trafford, 23rd- 26th July, incomplete printed scores. England scored 362/4 declared (Jack Russell 101) & 44/1, Australia 175, Cecil Parkin 5/38) and the match was drawn. 5th Test, Kennington Oval, 13th-16th August, incomplete printed scores. England scored 403/8 declared (Phil Mead 182no) & 244/2 (Russell 102no), Australia 389 in their only innings, the match was drawn. Horizontal fold. Odd faults as described, otherwise overall in good condition.
Australia won the first three Test matches convincingly, and with the final two matches drawn, they won the series 3-0 to retain The Ashes.
