New Zealand tour to England 1958. A good selection of over forty original mono press photographs and one postcard from the 1958 tour including match action from the Test series and the tour match v Surrey, team photographs, player portraits, travelling, functions etc. Four photographs are signed by the featured player, signatures are Bob Blair, Bill Playle, John Sparling, also John Beck (not on the tour). Other New Zealanders featured individually include John Reid (Captain), Noel Harford, Bert Sutcliffe, Eric Petrie, Tony MacGibbon etc. General views include the team disembarking from the plane on their arrival at Heathrow, performing the rugby ‘haka’ while training at Headingley where it was too wet for net practice, ground staff at Headingley preparing the wicket and removing rainwater etc. Press agencies include Sport & General, Daily Sketch, Keystone, Central Press Photos, P.A./ Reuter etc. Various sizes ranging from 11”x8.5” and smaller. Some photographs with press masking, staple holes and other odd faults, otherwise in good condition.
