‘Surrey v. Sussex’ 1887. Early original scorecard for the match played at Kennington Oval 29th- 31st August 1877. Complete printed scores. Surrey batted first reaching 118, Sussex then posted a first innings lead with 163. Surrey then scored 362 (K.J. Key 99). Anxious to get Sussex in again to bat on a worsening wicket, last man Ted Bowley ran down the wicket trying to get himself stumped but wicket-keeper Dudney refused to dismiss him. Sussex survived the remaining 90 minutes of play, ending 61/7 and the match was drawn. Printed on the ground by Wright & Co. (Cricket Press), London. Very good condition.
