Scarborough Cricket Festival 1953. Four mono real photograph plain back postcards of teams at Scarborough, the players depicted standing in one row wearing cricket attire in front of the pavilion. Two including one slightly smaller postcard (trimmed?) of the Yorkshire and M.C.C. teams for the match played 2nd- 4th September, the Players XI v Gentlemen 5th- 8th September, and T.N. Pearce’s XI v Australians, 9th- 11th September 1953. Players’ names annotated to verso of each postcard include Yardley, Wilson, Lester, Brennan, Watson, Hutton, Wardle, Illingworth, Foord, Graveney, Insole, Evans, Warr, Bailey, Edrich, Cowdrey, Titmus, Simpson, W. Sutclfife, Tattersall, Bedser etc. One postcard with annotated title to front border, three with official stamp to verso for Walkers Studios, Scarborough, the other (Pearce) postcard publisher unknown. Very good condition.
