‘Eleven of All England v Twenty-two of the Sheffield Collegaite School’ 1862. Early original two sided scorecard with complete printed scores for the match played at Brammall Lane, Sheffield, 22nd-24th September 1862. The All-England Eleven included Jackson, Tarrant, Hayward, Parr, Tinley, Stephenson, Willsher, Anderson etc. The scorecard, printed by Brittlebank & Wrigley of Mulberry Street, measures 3.5”x4.75”. An advert for Edwin F. Jackson’s Cricketing & Archery Depot of High Street, Sheffield. Minor wear and soiling otherwise in good condition
The All England eleven made 72 in their first innings with Hayward top scoring with 27, in relay Sheffield made 45, in reply All England made 118 with parr making 34no, Hayward 25 and Tarrant 21, Sheffield were then bowled out for 85. All England winning by 60 runs. Slinn of Sheffield took eleven wickets in the match. Tinley took an amazing twenty four wickets in the match! and Willsher thirteen
