Kumar Shri Ranjitsinhji. Cambridge University, Sussex, London County & England 1893-1920. Original sepia studio portrait photograph of Ranji, head and shoulders in cameo, wearing the military uniform of a British WW1 officer. The oval photograph measures 7.5”x9.5”, laid to trimmed photographer’s mount, overall 8.75”x10.75”. Photographer unknown. Very good condition. An excellent image.
During the First World War Ranji was made an honorary Major in the British Army. Because of his royal status he did not see active service.
