Kumar Shri Ranjitsinhji. Cambridge University, Sussex, London County & England 1893-1920. Original single page printed folding letter dated 12th November 1924, sent out to the ‘Ruling Princes and Chiefs’ that had been invited to attend the ‘Ruling Princes’ Banquet at Rajkote [sic]’ to be hosted by Ranjitsinhji on 25th November 1924. Printed on the official letterhead of ‘The Palace, Jamnagar, Kathiawar’, the purpose of the letter is to establish the number of ‘Sirdars’ (persons of high rank) accompanying the Princes and Chiefs in order to complete the table plan, specifically, ‘2 Sirdars to accompany Ruling Princes entitled to a salute of guns. 1 Sirdar to accompany the Ruling Chiefs of the 3rd Class. No Sirdar will accompany the Ruling Chiefs of the 4th Class’. Nicely signed in ink ‘Ranjitsinhji of Nawanagar’. To the inside centre pages is a handwritten reply from ‘Your Highness’ Sincere Friend, Amarsinhji’. Rough file holes to left edge, otherwise in very good condition.
