‘Yorkshire County Cricket Team 1932’. Official mono photograph of the Yorkshire team seated and standing in rows wearing cricket attire in front of a pavilion. Players featured include Sellers (captain), Sutcliffe, Macauley, A. Rhodes, Holmes, Wood, Barber, Leyland, Wood, Mitchell, Verity, Bowes etc. The photograph, by Bassano Ltd, Dover Street, London measures 11.25”x9.25”, laid to official photographer’s mount with printed photographers titles to corner. Overall 17”x12”. Ink inscription to lower border ‘With best wishes Charles Sykes, June 1932’. The top edge of the mount appears to have been trimmed, breaking crease to left hand side of lower border, some marks and soiling to mount otherwise in good condition. Yorkshire won the County Championship in 1932, losing only two matches. This may well have been Sir Charles Sykes who was a prominent British industrialist, artist, and administrator who served as the President of the Huddersfield Cricket and Athletic Club
