Hedley Verity. Yorkshire & England 1930-1939. M.C.C. tour of Australia 1936/37, Australian tour of England 1938 and the M.C.C. tour of South Africa 1938/39. A selection of thirteen photographs from the three tours all involving Hedley Verity. Photographs include an official photograph of the M.C.C. Australian team 1936/37, the photograph laid down to official photographers mount with titles above and players names to lower border. The photograph by the Sydney Mail Photo. 15”x12”. Very good condition. Also Bradman caught Allan, Bowled Verity, Melbourne 1937. Photographs from the Test series against Australia in England include Bradman being bowled out for 18 by Verity in the Australian first innings at Lord’s in the second Test, Verity catching McCabe out off Farnes for 38 runs, again in the first innings etc and photographs from the tour of South Africa in 1938/39 include Gubby Allen and Verity on a excursion up Mount Cook, with snow on the ground (2), Verity being welcomed home by Paul Gibb of Yorkshire at Waterloo Station. Various sizes 6.5”x4.5” and the largest 15”x12”. Some faults otherwise in good condition. Sold with two signed letters of provenance to this effect from G. Douglas Verity, son of Hedley, to the vendor and dated September 2003
