Hedley Verity. Yorkshire & England 1930-1939. Army life and cricket. Selection of five photographs showing Verity in the army, he rose to the rank of Captain Hedley Verity and cricket matches played by the ‘Green Jackets’ in Omagh in 1940/41, both a team photograph and of him walking off the pitch having batted. The army photographs are of various battalions and all feature Verity. There are also some modern photographs of Verity’s grave and stone on the lawns at Caserta, near Naples in Italy. In addition there is an official ‘Rawdon Cricket Club’ Grand Concert programme to raise funds for the Hedley Verity Memorial Pavilion at the ground, The concert took place at The Town Hall in Yeadon on the 2nd June 1946 and the compere was Wilfred Pickles.
