South Africa and New Zealand tours to England 1951-1958. Five miniature replica ‘Extra Special’ bats by G. Warsop & Sons, Marylebone. Three cover South Africa tours to England 1951 and 1955, and two from the New Zealand tour of 1958. All five bats with maker’s names to shoulders and ‘Warsop’ stamped to the top of the handle, each of which has two or three rubber inserts. Bats are for England v South Africa 1951 (28 signatures), and two from 1955 (both with 27 signatures), England v New Zealand 1958 (28) and Middlesex v New Zealand (27). Signatures include Brown, Compton, Bedser, Simpson, Tattersall, May, Graveney, Evans, Kenyon, Tyson, Titmus, Barrington, Laker, Trueman, Illingworth (England), Nourse, E. Rowan, van Ryneveld, Endean, Mansell, Cheatham, McGlew, A. Rowan (South Africa), Reid, Sutcliffe, Petrie, Ward, Alabaster, Playle (New Zealand), Warr, Edrich, Parfitt, Gale, Murray (Middlesex) etc. Three bats have an initial stamped and/ or handwritten to the toe, one with handwritten initials to verso, possibly of the apprentice maker. The bats measure approx. 18” tall by 3” wide. The bats in immaculate condition.
