Gentlemen v Players 1960 and 1961. Three miniature replica ‘Extra Special’ bats by G. Warsop & Sons, Marylebone, two covering Gentlemen v Players matches played at Lords, and one for ‘Old England 1962’. All three bats with maker’s names to shoulders, two with ‘Warsop’ stamped to the top of the handle, each of which has two rubber inserts. Two bats are fully signed in ink to the face by members of the Gentlemen and Players teams for seasons 1960 (22 including Cowdrey, Subba Row, Carr, Sayer, Barber, Statham, Barrington, Stewart, Padgham, Edrich etc.) and 1961 (22 signatures including May, Bailey, Craig, Brearley, Prideaux, Dexter, Watson, Close, Trueman, Moss, Flavell etc.). The third bat signed to the face by eleven members of the Old England team of 1962 including Brown, Compton, Bedser, Insole, Evans, W. Edrich, Gover etc. and to the verso by nine of the Lord’s Taverners XI including Sheppard, E. Bedser, Miller, Webster etc. All bats have an initial stamped to the toe, one with handwritten initials to verso, possibly of the apprentice maker. The bats measure approx. 18” tall by 3” wide. The bats in immaculate condition.
