Vernon Seymour Ransford. Victoria & Australia 1903-1928. Sepia real postcard of Ransford depicted head and shoulders in cameo on a white background, wearing Australia tour cap and blazer. Printed title to lower border ‘V.S. Ransford (The Australian Cricket Team 1909)’. Nicely signed in black ink by Ransford. Davidson Bros, London & New York. Postally unused. Small tear to right edge, light creasing, scribbles to verso, otherwise in good/ very good condition. Rare.
Ransford played in all five Tests on the 1909 tour scoring 353 runs (best 143no), topping the averages with 58.83.
