Victorian cricket Christmas, New Year and birthday greetings cards c.1895. Seven attractive colour greetings cards, each featuring cricketing scenes, some with humorous captions. Two are single-sided cards, one issued by Raphael Tuck & Sons with artwork by ‘Ellam’, the other similar. Captions are ‘Straight for the middle stump’ and ‘How’s that? Very uncomfortable’. Other titles include ‘Where the deuce has that gone?’, ‘Grace and Remembrance to you Shakespeare’ etc. One card appears to feature a hand-coloured cricket scene on plastic(?). Adhesive marks to verso of two, other faults, overall in good condition.
