Australia tours to England 1948-1965. Five miniature replica ‘Extra Special’ bats by G. Warsop & Sons, Marylebone, covering the Test matches played, mainly at Lords (one exception). The 1948 bat with trademark cannon emblem stamp to face below the splice. All bats with maker’s names to shoulders, and ‘Warsop’ stamped to the top of the handle, each of which has two rubber inserts. The bats are fully signed in ink to the face by members of the England and Australian teams with the exception of the 1948 signed to the face by the Australians and to the verso by England and Middlesex teams, 1956 signed by the Australian and Middlesex teams, and 1964 signed to the face by Australia and verso by England. The bats are for seasons 1948 (40 signatures including Bradman, Hassett, Miller, Lindwall, Yardley, Compton, Edrich, Washbrook, Mann, Dewes, Thompson, Young etc.), 1956 v England (27 including May, Statham, Graveney, Cowdrey, Johnson, Langley, Maddocks, Rutherford etc.), 1956 v Middlesex (27 including Benaud, Burke, Wilson, Craig, Robertson, Moss, Titmus, Murray etc.), 1961 (24 including Harvey, Burge, Booth, O’Neill, Jarman, Trueman, Illingworth, Barrington, Dexter etc.), and 1964 (29 including Simpson, Hawke, Lawry, Burge, Connolly, Coldwell, Gifford, Sharpe etc.). All of the bats have an initial stamped or handwritten to the toe, one also to rear shoulder, possibly of the apprentice maker. The bats measure approx. 18” tall by 3” wide. Slight bleeding and minor fading to the odd signature, damage to one rubber grip, the bats in immaculate condition.
