New Zealand tours to England 1949 and 1958. Three miniature replica ‘Extra Special’ bats by G. Warsop & Sons, Marylebone, covering Test and tour matches played, mainly at Lords. All bats with maker’s names to shoulders, and ‘Warsop’ stamped to the top of the handle, each of which has two rubber inserts. Two bats are fully signed in ink to the face by members of the England and New Zealand teams, one by the New Zealand and Middlesex teams. The bats are for Test matches played in 1949 (40 signatures including Mann, Bailey, Watkins, Compton, Hutton, Hadlee, Wallace, Burtt, Sutcliffe, Cowie etc.), 1958 (27 including May, Richardson, Evans, Trueman, Statham, Reid, Blair, Playle, Sutcliffe, Alabaster etc.), and 1958 v Middlesex (27 including Meale, Petrie, Moir, MacGibbon, Warr, Edrich, Moss, Titmus, Parfitt etc.). All of the bats have an initial stamped or handwritten to the toe, one also to rear shoulder, possibly of the apprentice maker. The bats measure approx. 18” tall by 3” wide. Minor fading to the odd signature, rubber grips and bats in immaculate condition.
