West Indies tours to England 1950 and 1957. Two miniature replica ‘Extra Special’ bats by G. Warsop & Sons, Marylebone, covering Test matches played at Lords. Both bats with maker’s names to shoulders, and ‘Warsop’ stamped to the top of the handle, each of which has two or three rubber inserts. The bats are signed in ink to the face by members of the England and West Indies teams. The bats are for seasons 1950 (27 signatures including Yardley, Edrich, Parkhouse, Hutton, Jenkins, Goddard, Worrell, Weekes, Walcott, Ramadhin etc., also signed to the verso by the umpires Davies and Lee), and 1957 (22 signatures including May, Bailey, Trueman, Close, Wardle, Graveney, Valentine, Hall, Ganteaume, Dewdney etc.). Both of the bats have an initial stamped or handwritten to the toe or to rear shoulder, possibly of the apprentice maker. The bats measure approx. 18” tall by 3” wide. Some bleeding to the odd signature, the 1957 lacking its rubber grip, the bats in immaculate condition.
