India tours to England 1952 and 1959. Two miniature replica ‘Extra Special’ bats by G. Warsop & Sons, Marylebone, covering Test matches played at Lords. Both bats with maker’s names to shoulders, and ‘Warsop’ stamped to the top of the handle, each of which has two rubber inserts. The bats are fully signed in ink to the face by members of the England and India teams. The bats are for seasons 1952 (30 signatures including Hutton, Bedser, Laker, Watkins, May, Graveney, Hazare, Adikari, Ramchand, Roy, Ghulam Ahmed, Umrigar etc., and one umpire, Lee), and 1959 (26 including Cowdrey, Trueman, Subba Row, Statham, Roy, Surendranath, Manjrekar, Desai, Gupte etc.). The 1952 bat has an initial stamped to the toe, possibly of the apprentice maker. The bats measure approx. 18” tall by 3” wide. Some bleeding to the odd signature, slight wear to the rubber grip of the 1959, the bats in immaculate condition.
