Gentlemen v Players 1949, 1956 and 1957. Three miniature replica ‘Extra Special’ bats by G. Warsop & Sons, Marylebone, covering matches played at Lords. All three bats with maker’s names to shoulders, ‘Warsop’ stamped to the top of the handle, each of which has two rubber inserts. The bats are fully signed in ink to the face by members of the Gentlemen and Players teams for seasons 1949 (22 signatures including Mann, Brown, Doggart, Yardley, Bailey, Simpson, Compton, Perks, Langridge, Hutton, Close, Graveney etc.), 1956 (22 including Palmer, Allan, Richardson, Marlar, Melluish, Washbrook, Trueman, Laker, Tyson, Evans etc.), and 1957 (22 including May, Insole, Sheppard, Cowdrey, Warr, Goonesena, Clark, Hollies etc.). All bats have an initial stamped and/or handwritten to the toe or verso, possibly of the apprentice maker. The bats measure approx. 18” tall by 3” wide. The bats in immaculate condition.
